Surgery The clinical treatment is basically cleaning and dressing the wound. Your wound may also require surgical intervention, or stitching of the wound. There will be repair of damage done to the tissues, during the surgery. The wound is surgically cleaned to allow natural healing. When there is a deep cut in the skin or flesh, the medical procedure of cleaning the wound with a sterile solution is performed. After cleaning the wound, the particles in the wound will be removed from the site. Then, antibiotic solution is gently put on the wound site, to avoid infection. The wound is then covered with a sterile dressing. If a patient requires a surgical repair, then the operation is performed under general anesthesia. The wound is then closed with stitches, and a surgical bandage is put to close the wound. Skin abrasions (scratches or wearing of the skin) after an injury, is treated by cleaning the wound site. Sterile solution is applied on the skin, and the wound is bandaged later. A tetanus injection is given to reduce the risk of infection.

Show extra caution when working around objects like knife and scissors. Wear safety objects like gloves and eyewear whenever there is even a slight risk.
